OMAHA, Neb.—This morning at a press conference in Omaha, Democratic Congressional candidate Jim Esch endorsed Tony Raimondo in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary.
In his endorsement, Esch noted Raimondo’s 40 years of experience in business – creating jobs, balancing budgets in good times and bad, and growing Nebraska’s economy.
"Tony took over a business that was on the verge of collapse and turned it into a Nebraska success story," said Esch. "It certainly wasn’t easy, but like all Nebraskans, Tony rolled up his sleeves and kept working each day to make it happen."
Esch says Raimondo is the right kind of leader at the right time. |

Columbus, NE —The Nebraska State Legislative Board of the United Transportation Union (UTU) has voted unanimously to endorse Tony Raimondo in the Democratic U.S. Senate Primary.
"Tony’s experience and leadership ability clearly set him apart in this race," said Ben Ebmeier of North Platte, Executive Board Secretary. "We know and appreciate Scott Kleeb. However, our members also know that Tony will offer a stark contrast to the candidacy of Mike Johanns in November."
In their endorsement, the UTU applauds Raimondo’s record of standing up for Nebraska's working families. "Tony purchased a failing business, saving hundreds of employees from the unemployment line and has grown the business, while maintaining good wages and benefits."
The UTU is a broad-based transportation labor union representing 125,000 active and retired railroad, bus and mass transit employees in the United States. In Nebraska, there are more than 4,000 UTU members.
"The railroad and those who work on it helped build Nebraska into the great state that it is today – and the working men and women of UTU continue that strong tradition," said Raimondo. "I am honored to receive their support."
