COLUMBUS, Neb.—Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Tony Raimondo highlights his real-world experience in the campaign’s latest television ad.

“I’m a businessman – I’ve created jobs, balanced budgets and helped grow Nebraska’s economy,” Raimondo says in the ad. “My experience is real-world experience, solving real problems and creating real jobs. That’s the kind of experience needed to change Washington.”

The ad is the third from Raimondo, who was the first candidate on TV, beginning earlier this month.

Raimondo and his wife Jeanne have been proud to call Nebraska home for more than 30 years. In 1984, he joined with three partners to lead a management buyout of Behlen Manufacturing Company, returning the company to local ownership. The team grew Behlen Mfg. Co. from $32 million in annual sales with major losses to a company that now stands at $220 million in annual sales.

Raimondo’s background in economic and monetary policy comes from having served on the Federal Reserve Board. He has joined with both Republican and Democratic governors, traveling the world on trade missions, growing Nebraska’s agricultural and manufacturing imports.

Raimondo serves as chairman of the Nebraska Dream It Do It campaign, a partnership with education, business and labor that encourages young people to consider exciting and good paying careers available in manufacturing and related businesses.

“This election is about change and who has the experience and background to create jobs and change Washington,” said Eric Fought, Raimondo for Senate Campaign Manager. “Tony has the experience necessary to do just that – and that message comes through clearly in this ad.”

“Experience” :30 Television

I’m Tony Raimondo. I sponsored this ad because we’ve got to change Washington.

I’m a businessman.

I’ve created jobs, balanced budgets, and helped grow Nebraska’s economy.

My Republican opponent is a career politician.

My Democratic opponent is an academic.

That’s the difference. My experience is real world experience, solving real problems and creating real jobs.

That’s the kind of experience needed to change Washington.
